Breast Types & Lingerie Tips

ROUND

These breasts are equally full at the top and the bottom and have a uniform circular shape.

Bra Fit Tip:

Women who have round breasts can easily try on a variety of types and differently styled bras. Their breast type supports themselves so specifically constructed and structured bras like under-wired or padded bras aren’t a requirement. It’s ideal to look for coverage for this breast type rather than support and structure.

BELL:

These breasts have more volume at the bottom than at the top and they do not project outwards. They do have a circular shape but more fullness is in the bottom.

Bra Fit Tip:

The ideal bras for this breast type are the ones which have a flexible and elastic neckline, open on top, and close-set straps. Balconettes are preferred for this bra type for daily wear and push-up bra for occasional wear which move the tissue up and give more structure and shape.

EAST WEST:

These types of breasts rest majorly on the sides of the body rather than in the centre, either the breasts point outwards or gravitate towards the sides. These are wide sets and if you can easily place your fist in the center of their chest then you fall in this breast category.

Bra Fit Tip:

Bras with open wires and side slings that bring the breast tissue in, centering the bust inside the body frame look, flatter this breast type. T-shirt bras are recommended as it shapes them and pushes them towards the centre of the chest.

SLENDER:

These breasts have a soft or deflated tissue and often point straight and weigh downward in a longer form with the majority weight closer to the nipple. Pencil test is often used where these breasts are able to hold a pencil underneath them as they can easily touch the rib cage ending and weigh heavy.

Bra Fit Tip:

Women with slender breasts can benefit from full coverage bras with a high and wide gore in the midline of the chest as it helps to have a perfect grip for containing them in the shape. The bras with under wiring also flatter these breast types which help to provide shape and support.

ASYMMETRIC:

Both breasts are uneven where there is a discrepancy in size and can be a cup size in difference i.e. one breast larger than the other.

Bra Fit Tip:

Women with uneven breasts should try and choose the bra size that fits the larger breast or a removable pad. The best fit of the fabric for this type of breasts is the fabric that has stretch.
