Lingerie Issues & Solutions

A good bra or lingerie is an ultimate game-changer; it can either make or break your entire outfit. The right lingerie also saves you from a lot of health problems, relieves back pain, premature sagging of the breasts and posture issues.
Bras do not have standard sizes. It differs due to styles, materials and brand sizing. Hence you should always try and seek help from a fitting expert before buying one.
Listed below are some common bra issues and solutions, which will help you identify the factors to consider whilst lingerie shopping.

Straps slipping off

Cup Gaping

If your breasts are asymmetrical or bell-shaped, you would often notice a gap being created between the two cups of your breasts. Sometimes, tightening the straps can solve this issue, and if not, you should go a size smaller for your bras. Try a smaller cup size while keeping the band size the same, or look for bras with a thin separation or seam between the two cups.

Rising bra band

The band of your bra should sit smooth and seamlessly around your ribcage. While trying a bra, put two fingers in the round from the back. It shouldn’t have any less or more capacity than your two fingers. A common problem many women face is that their band is rising from the back. This signifies that you should go one band size smaller or replace your bra as it might have lost all its elasticity.

Straps digging in

If you notice stretch marks or rashes on your shoulders because of wearing your bra all day long, your straps are too tight for you. This can also be because of the large band size since your band is loose, you tighten your belts and it has to do all of the work. The necessary support from your bra band isn’t there. Hence you should try a smaller band and loosen up your straps.

Wire sits on breasts

If your bra band is not snug and does not allow your breasts to fall into the cup perfectly, then it is time to try a smaller band size. This will also solve the issue of cup gapping. However, remember that if you are going a size smaller in the band, go for one bigger cup size. Otherwise, your bra will not fit perfectly.

Cup Overflow

If you notice your breasts overflowing the side or above, it is time to size up a cup. This will allow them to sit perfectly in the cups and not feel heavy or sore.
